The Soroptimist International Trenton & Downriver Club is proud to celebrate our 75th Anniversary in 2025. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of women and girls throughout the Downriver Michigan communities we serve.
The Club hosts a Monthly Business Meeting on the 1st Wednesday of the month at the Woodhaven Community Center 23101 Hall Road, Woodhaven, from September through June.
We hold a Monthly Dinner Meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of the month which rotates through various Downriver area restaurants. Some meetings include a speaker or educational program, others are to socialize and celebrate, and some may include a craft or activity night. Please check our Facebook Page for specific location information.
Our Board meets monthly via ZOOM on the 3rd Wednesday.
We host a Dream It Be It Program annually; and participate in the Live Your Dream Award, Virginia Wagner Educational Award and our own Soroptimist PRIME Award with a celebratory banquet each March.
Our signature programs include the Biennial Battle for Freedom Charity Gala which supports putting an end to human trafficking.
Our Save the Girls Charity Motorcycle Ride just celebrated our 20th run with proceeds from this event benefiting our human trafficking, domestic violence, and women’s health issues including breast, cervical and ovarian cancers.
The Save the Girls Charity Golf Event raises funds for specific projects including our Biennial Human Trafficking Summits, Dream It Be It Programs, and other Community Outreach Projects.
Our Community Outreach efforts have been many. They include a biennial Human Trafficking Summit, working with local organizations such as Vista Maria, First Step, Hope Against Trafficking and Sparrow Freedom Project, Stanford House and others that provide services to victims and survivors.
